Our room was a good size and had a small peekaboo view of the sea. Breakfast was the most delicious we had on a 3 week trip! Bed was comfy and shower had great water pressure.

The hotel property, that is a meticulously restored historic mansion, is absolutely stunning! We stayed in a villa with a private pool, with views of the sea and the surrounding gardens, vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees. The words cannot describe the beauty of this place! We enjoyed seeing the many animals that live on the property and are lovingly taken care of. The friendly and always accommodating staff went out of their way to fulfill our every wish, especially Lorenzo, who arranged our accommodation. We loved the fresh and healthy Mediterranean cuisine with emphasis on the produce grown in the hotel’s gardens. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the Kinsterna house wines were amazing. The daily baked fresh crusty bread that came with our Greek salad was the best we ever had! Cannot wait to come back!

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.
The property is in central location, close to the beach and 200meters from the Monemvasia bridge. It was clean and well equipped with coffee machine, a hairdryer, an iron and hotel amenities (shampoo, shower gel, slippers). It was very cozy with nice decoration and the owner paid attention to detail.
The owner (Dimitris) is very kind and helpful. He welcomed us with a basket of fruits, a bottle of wine and waters and in the end he gave us a small souvenir gift as well.
If we go again to Monemvasia, it will be our first choice.
The house was ideally located within the castle walls. It was clean and beautifully decorated, and our hosts provided us with wine and goodies upon our arrival. There was a wonderful view from the balcony on the third floor. And, the swimming area off the rocks was just a short walk away, as were several dining options. My wife, two sons (ages 23 and 20) and my older sons girlfriend, who joined us, loved Monemvasia and Casa Felicia!

So the place itself feels a little old and out-dated. With that being said, it served it's purpose. It was very very close to the Monemvasia medieval town and was very easy to access. The water in the showers was always nice and hot (which is hard to find in Greece), but the design of the bathroom is a bit odd haha. If you are just here for 1 or 2 nights i think it's perfect. If you plan to stay for a while and need a kitchen and such, it may not be the best.
Set in the castle at Monemvasia the hotel is in a unique corner of Greece, down higgledy piggledly paths like something out of a movie.
An excellent base for exploring the town and the area beyond.
The setting for breakfast beneath the barreled ceiling was beautiful.
A family run business, we were welcomed and taken care of whenever we asked for something we needed.
Come with light luggage. You can get help with heavier cases but it’s easier without.
Everything was perfect and exceed my expectations!!! Monemvasia is a magical place that travels you back in time. Lazareto hotel is built with stone and wood matches completely to surrounding environment and the character of Monemvasia. The people of the hotel made the whole experience even better. Very welcoming and warm staff from the moment of the arrival, willing to help you at any moment.
Staying in Monemvasia, on the side of a large rock, is such a treat. I will never forget the one night we spent in Monemvasia - this place is a photographers dream! As far as the hotel room- I felt like I had stepped into another century and the room had a rustic charm. The woman at the front desk and the gentleman who helped us with the luggage were very pleasant and helpful.
Nice hotel on the edge of the small town, across the causeway from old town. The room was clean, water pressure and hot water good, breakfast buffet was good, the owners are friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and free, good dog walking along the beach with a fine view of the rock. We stayed here one night. We are full time travelers with a dog and a car.
Monemvasia is a unique place, definitely a must-see. The hotel is perfectly located in a silent, calm corner of the old town, well-equipped, well served with friendly and helpful staff. When it came to the city and the hotel, everything was just perfect, 100% fit to or exceeding expectations.
It’s a unique five star hotel in the Peloponnese that has respected the surroundings and the local architecture. Everything is very professional and clean. The staff is excellent, the food is great and the atmosphere is peaceful. A place I would recommend as a must place to see in Greece.
Our room at klelia hotel was nice clean and comfortable, with a sea view balcony. The hotel has a good position from the centre of Gefira (about ten minutes walk) and from Monemvasia (about twenty minutes walk). The lovely girl at the reception is extremly kind and professional.
A very nice and charming hotel inside the walled town of Monemvasia. Our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and overlooked the beautiful sea. Breakfast was rich and varied. The outdoor cafe was absolutely stunning, offering relaxed seating with magnificent views.
It was one of our best stay in a vacation. There is a lot to write about: the location, the breakfast, the view, the terrace, in general - the place. Monemvasia has to be visited and Malvasia Hotel is one of the best place to stay their.
A great hotel in the Malvasia Castle. The room was very clean and comfortable with a great view of the walled in city and the sea. Wonderful small and unique community to visit. The reception staff was helpful and friendly.
Second time staying in this hotel and won’t be our last. Staff lovely, room delightful and such a bonus being able to park right by your room unlike other places in the castle where you have to carry your stuff far etc.
Theophano Art Hotel is beautifully appointed!! It was well positioned and quiet. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and staff were lovely. The owner gave us some history on Monemvasia which was interesting.

the balcony with sea view was amazing
The very nice lady that waited for us at the castle gate and took us to our room
Very nice hotel, nice welcome and breakfast by the pool, nice bedroom with a great sea view. Great pool with the sea view. Good location, close to Monemvasia (with a car).
