They were very warm, constantly took care that I had all the necessities and showed me the best spots on the island; even helped me with the bike renting and the drive back to the airport! The room was also very clean and equipped with the essentials.

From arrival, Kishaba-san went out of his way to invite me to the local Kyuubon celebrations over the next few nights, and while there he introduced me to his family and a couple others. When I left to Naha and stayed at another hostel, I felt surprised by how much more comfortable and welcome I felt staying at Kishaba. Amenities are suitable, location is great, facilities are wonderful. The bed is comfortable, spacious, and private. Above all though, staying here made my trip to Ishigaki that much more memorable.

Everything was impeccably clean, and the family dinner each night is something special. I stayed on Christmas, and I enjoyed getting to know the family, staff, and the one other guest a little. Everyone tried to speak a little English with me so I wasn't left out of the conversation! Kitchen is very well stocked, and common areas are really nice and comfortable. It would be really relaxing for a longer stay.

Feels like home and wished to stay longer. Max is indeed one of the best hosts ever, together with Shiori. Our Miyakojima experience is so memorable with these guys! Our bed is comfortable, everything you need is here! free towel rentals, toiletries, water, condiments for cooking and even laundry! We’ve celebrated Max’s 60th birthday and this night is one of the most memorable nights I’ve ever had in my backpacking experience. The host also helped us to rent a car during the busiest days of Obon week. We are truly grateful! Thank you so much, Max and Shiori (and Happy!!) !!! Indeed a wonderful experience. Indeed a ‘Happy Island’ Miyako ^_^

ゲストハウス石垣 is situated in Ishigaki Island and features a shared lounge. Guests can make use of a garden. Rooms are fitted with a shared bathroom. Ishigaki Island is 1.2 km from the hostel. One of the owners, Andy is also an instructor of snorkelling, and I had so much fun in the sea. Strongly recommend!

The bathroom was spotless, and the bedroom was comfortable and inviting. Plus, the closest beach is just a short walk away and absolutely beautiful. If you're planning a trip to Miyakojima, I highly recommend staying at Koa.
