An unusual and “quirky” hotel that took a while to “understand”, but once the set up was clear it was a really interesting stay. Genuine 18C buildings have been converted to hotel rooms and some of the fishing barns converted to accommodation for groups. Accepting the challenges of staying in such historic accommodation, our stay over three nights over a 10 day period was really enjoyable. If a lightbulb doesn’t work - it’s all part of the charm. Our private salon was amazing 😊 Excellent staff and a good “home cooked” buffet evening meal was great value, especially for Norway.

The location of this house can't be beaten. It's on one of the most beautiful streets in Bergen, and just a couple of minutes walk from the centre, with all its history. Plenty of nearby shops, restaurants, walks and activities.

The breakfast was amazing. Location was fab and easy to get to as it’s literally just outside the main train station. The ambience of the hotel was good… and the American Pizza restaurant served amazing pizza!

I had booked it for the roof top bar and retiring… However, we only realised when we got there that they were shout on Sunday and Monday which was a shame as those were the days we were there. Oh well… next time!

I liked the location, the service, breakfast, and the view from the breakfast area. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations.

We were very happy and enjoyed our stay. However, I note that our rooms, which were on the 8th floor, would not be convenient for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage because the lift goes to the 6th floor from where there is a small and narrow staircase leading to the 8th floor. This floor is next to the rooftop area, which was closed, so we had a very quiet and peaceful stay, which was great.

The description of the room is missleading, the owner is not comunicating at all!!! no door for the bathroom, no seperate bedroom as described..unless the amazing view and location - we wouldnt stayed.

When we booked the property there wasn’t pictures or any notices to the fact that you sleep in someones home. When we arrived we were shocked when the room was in the hostess’ upstairs and it didn’t have any lock on our rooms door. Only the main door downstairs. The hostess was asking a lot of questions about our plans and when we would be at the apartment. Also we could hear everything going on in the house e.g the when the hostess watched tv. When we left in 10mins from arrival and didn’t stay the night and tried to get our money back the hostess was very mean and rude and expressed that I’m stupid for thinking it would be an entire apartment (I didn’t I just thought it would be more private and not shared with other people). So my stay was not very nice but if you are comfortable to sleep in someone’s home when they are there then this is a nice option and now there are pictures of the shared hallway etc
