The room was so small, nowhere to put your case, and couldn’t open the wardrobe without having to move a chair….. (suggestion ditch the chair) bathroom was a bolt on to the room which took up a large chunk of the room.

It was in a good location, easy walking distance to town.

For a bed and breakfast there was nothing I didn't like

Had parking. A 5 minute walk from the town. The owner went out of her way to make your stay lovely. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.

We loved everything about our stay! Julie was fantastic in her recommendations around the town and nothing was too much trouble! They also have a resident cat which was super cute!!Highly recommend staying at the old forge and getting a traditional English breakfast

Cost. £150 for a "cosy" (= small) room (no 4) is quite steep, although to be fair Totnes is an expensive place and if you seek somewhere cheaper you are likely to run into problems, either lesser rooms in Totnes or much cheaper 2-3 miles out of town - so you cannot walk into Totnes.... We did get to see another other room (no 2), and should you want to pay a bit more you get a lot more. Breakfast is 8-9am, maybe tight for some.

Quaint old building with some modern extensions. Friendly owner (Julie). Comfy bed, firm mattress. Parking right outside. Easy and quite nice walk 5 - 10 mins into Totnes. Nice garden to sit in if warm and sunny. Breakfast food was good. Quiet establishment and area.

It was all very pleasant. No problems of any sort, and helpful pleasant hosts.

Very friendly hosts. Parking very convenient right outside front door. A really delicious hot breakfast. Warm room, windows which opened onto pleasant views. A bookcase full of interesting novels, I could have stayed a fortnight! Straightforward plumbing. The garden looked lovely but it was pouring with rain most of our 24h stay.

Room was very comfortable with a lovely view. My welcome was really cheering after battling through the rain. Breakfast was great and offered a lot of choice. Location was just a short walk from the town centre and restaurants.

Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating host. Pleasant room with comfy super king size bed which the host upgraded us to. Easy parking on site which is a big bonus in a town with limited street parking available. Easy quick walk into Totnes centre. Good cooked breakfast included in price.

Breakfast was amazing. Julie accommodated my needing breakfast a little earlier each day. A wonderful cozy room, quiet characterful hotel in a convenient location. Very friendly helpful hosts. I would definitely recommend The Old Forge.

We were made to feel really welcome at The Old Forge by owner, Julie. She had kindly given us a free upgrade as well, which was a lovely surprise. Our room was perfect and the breakfast was delicious. I was staying there with my daughter and we'd definitely return. It was ideally positioned for walking into town and down to the river.
