To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomOne of best hotel breakfasts we have experienced: up there with Andaz L'pool Street and Radisson in Zurich Airport. Very convenient location. Great 1 star restaurant but also good all day dining facility with pleasant friendly staff. Spa has marble floors so if Yr feet don't fit in hotel slippers (my wife whose feet do loved them however) bring Yr own appropriate footwear if unsteady on Yr feet.

Saudi ArabiaWhen we arrived to Amsterdam, we had to change our returning flight from Sunday to Saturday due to sudden circumstances. So as a result, we had to cancel our last night in the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel, I immediately told the receptionist that I want to cancel the last night and I want a refund. She told me yes you can cancel the night but with no refund, I was shocked, because when I booked our stay on Booking, it says you can cancel any time 2 nights before, and when I told her that I want to cancel it was 4 nights before, so what is the problem? Then, we said it’s fine, but cancel the last night anyway because we will not stay. She said sure I will cancel the night for you. When we checked out on Saturday with Samira, she told me it’s not your check out day, your check out is tomorrow! I was shocked again, and I told her the story and I told her that I asked from her colleague to cancel it the day we arrived. She said no, unfortunately, she didn’t cancel it for you. But it’s fine I will do it for you but there will not be a refund because you didn’t cancel it before! And here I was shocked again 😂. why when we arrived the lady told me that there is no refund at all? Because if she cancelled it for me that day there will be a refund, but because she didn’t and it’s late now then I will not get my money back! My family and I were really mad in the beginning, but after 5 minutes THE AMAZING Samira gave me an invoice and said this is your refund, and this invoice is for you because it might take some weeks to be in your bank account. But my problem is, now it has been 3 weeks but I didn’t receive the refund yet. I hope I will get it ASAP, and if you need more information, please tell me so I can contact you via email.
First of all, the location is amazing! Most of places were in a walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and the service is great. We really enjoyed our stay there. Finally, I would like to thank ms. Samira who helped us a lot, thank you very much.

United KingdomWas not expecting the 300 euro deposit, I paid in full on arrival so I didn't see why it was necessary, expected it to be paid back into my account when I checked out and was told it would be paid back into my account and could take up to 10 days. This was the only negative on what would have been an excellent stay. You should be made aware of this when booking.

CanadaThe room was not what we had requested - a double bed room. We were supposedly upgraded to a smaller room with only a queen bed, which is not what we booked. When I complained we were given another very noisy room over a back alley and a kitchen, which kept us up all night. Also, without two beds - only one.
Food was excellent. Both room service and breakfast were very great.

United KingdomWe paid extra for the breakfast as reading reviews we’ve been told the breakfast is legendary. Much to my wife’s disappointment who is a decaf coffee drinker the Hotel couldn’t supply a nice decaf coffee. The only coffee they could supply as a decaffeinated coffee was instant coffee which I think for a hotel of this caliber is not acceptable, Amsterdam has some great pancake restaurants. It would’ve been nice to have had some fresh pancakes for breakfast instead of heated up shop bought pancakes especially when they were making fresh waffles. Also in my opinion, we both felt the breakfast could’ve been hotter. If I was to stay again I would not book the breakfast. I would go out to eat which I feel would also be better value. Also another incident which we weren’t happy about a bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne had been left in our room as we were to celebrating our silver wedding anniversary we assumed this was complimentary from the hotel as there was no note. We later found out it was our goddaughter who had sent it when we challenge the hotel they actually tried to pass the champagne off as they had sent it complementary as you can imagine we were not very happy. We gave them an opportunity to explain what happened to the note, but they never came back to us!
Location was key and the staff were nice.

United Kingdom5 star rated hotel should have table service for breakfast rather than buffet. We had a premium room with a view of Dam Square, great view but very noisy with windows open. Lighting overall was a bit subdued for our liking
