Both the traditional Japanese and Western breakfast options were delicious, filling, and promptly arrived to our door. The staff were accommodating and very kind, we will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Kyoto.

Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. We just loved our stay at Luck You. Traveling for the first time in Japan as a family of 4 (with two younger kids aged 8 and 11) it was not easy finding ryokans and hotels that were suitable. But Luck You met and exceeded all our expectations. It was in a convenient and central location close to many restaurants and cafes. We booked the premier room that slept four and we found it to be large, light and clean. The futons were fun to sleep on (especially for the kids) and they reasonably comfortable (for futons!). You can ask for a second futon layer if you prefer the extra padding. Breakfast was simple but sufficient, and there were western and more traditional Japanese options. Where Luck You exceeded our expectations was the customer service - all staff members were very helpful and friendly and were happy to go above and beyond to make our stay a special one. We also appreciated the little charming touches in and around the ryokan such as the exquisite flower arrangements and the beautiful cotton kimonos and traditional clogs/slippers for use inside. And the kids loved the "Happy Hour" when they could make their own hot chocolates and sit in the ryokan lounge of an evening. In sum, Luck You was by far our best accommodation experience overall and it was a lovely gentle introduction to Japanese culture. We will definitely return.

Located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine, 海蔵寺 宿坊 櫻海 provides air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. Monk is very cheerful and friendly. Accommodation was immaculate, with a high level of attention to detail. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. Highly recommended!

Located within less than 1 km of Gion Shijo Station and a 15-minute walk of Samurai Kembu Kyoto, Ishibekoji Muan provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kyoto. The staff were very accommodating and super friendly. They helped us with luggage transportation and helped clarify getting a gluten-free meal for the breakfast. The rooms were exactly as in the pictures and really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this Ryokan to anyone going to Kyoto. It is quite central so you can easily walk or take public transport to all the popular locations.

In the Sakyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Heian Shrine, 明和荘Mei Wa Inn features a garden and a washing machine. This was one of the best place I have stayed in Japan. The space felt like a cozy home. Many amenities were included(hair care, body, toothpaste). Bathroom and toliet is separated, which is great. The young owner was really considerate and gave clear orientation to the house. He also recommended alot of the different restaurants and places to visit. Additionally, answered all questions we had in a quick manner. I would definitely come back again when I am in Kyoto.
