Where do I start! Melas hotel is a gem of a hotel. It’s clean and has all the amenities of a 5* hotel. But it’s people that make places! My stay was wonderful from the time I arrived till the time of departure. The location of the hotel is fairly central to get to most places in Istanbul. However, if you are a first time visitor in Istanbul and you are looking to occupy in the main tourist attractions, then you may wish to consider a hotel in the Sultanahmet or Taksim square area. But having said that, you can still commute from here within half an hour by taxi (depending on traffic which can be heavy at the most of times). But if a peaceful night sleep is necessary, then this is the place to be. Breakfast was very tasty and there was a good variety of food. If there is anything in particular you would like then that can be arranged. Once again, nothing is too much trouble. I used to have the best Turkish tea here which I’ll miss. A big thanks to Emre Zeytun and his team for their hospitality and bending over backwards. Emre, you have promised to show me the Asian side of Istanbul next time I am there so I will look forward to that. Also, a big thanks to Leyla at the reception for all her efforts. Leyla is a gem at this beautiful hotel and she will go to all lengths to help her guests with the information required. She is very friendly, helpful and a lovely person. Thank you Leyla. Everyone at the hotel makes so much effort (with a smile) that is so effortless that you don’t mind asking. There are so many people I would like to thank for contributing to the comfort of my stay but I apologise as I was unable to take the names of them all.
