Only 15-minute walk from Shuhe Ancient Town, La Maison du Laoshay is located in a very quiet garden villa community in the north of Lijiang city, a couple and a daughter, with two cats and a dog, is a real homestay. Guests can relax and read in the cozy living room or in the garden, can use self-laundry and dryer facilities for free.

Thank you so much to the guesthouse owner, who helped me A LOT during my stay. he speaks English, and helped me book the Leaping Tiger Gorge tour with Tina's guesthouse (a bus comes to the guesthouse early morning, brings you to the gorge hiking trail, and bring your luggage directly to Tina's guesthouse). The room was very calm, the bed comfortable with nice soft sheets. The garden is so nice, with lots of flowers, and lots of resting areas. The guesthouse is situated in the modern part of Lijiang, but a 5-10mn walk from the South entrance of the old town, so very easy to reach. It is also a 15mn walk from the coach station. I would recommend the location because it is easy to find and easily reachable with heavy luggage. and calm!

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Location was perfect for visiting the ancient town. Breakfast was good. The layout of the hotel was interesting and liked that there were several entrances into the old town. Staff were attentive especially Kokole (? spelling) who cleaned the three rooms we occupied. On the last night, she even left the door to the safe opened as a reminder that I had items in the safe. Very thoughtful. The hotel compound was beautiful and well maintained. Shame there were no balconies to sit and view the gardens from the upstairs rooms.

We loved our stay in Lijang. The Old Town is beautiful and the guest house was in a great location. The room was clean and very cute. The staff at Lewo Guest House were fantastic. They went over and above expectations during our stay. The staff on the desk helped us to organise day trips and getting to our next destination as well as ordering a birthday cake, too. We definitely recommend Lewo Guest House to all who visit Lijang.

Great Location, beautiful senary. I like the villa style room. If the weather is good, have a very good view of Yulong mountain. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small private door to the old town which is super convinient. The Chinese restaurant is very good and value the money.

The guesthouse is located within walking distance from the old town. Staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. They even helped me organise a bus ride to the tiger leaping gorge (which was beautiful btw!) Beds are comfortable with curtains for privacy. Would highly recommend this hostel!
