It was a peaceful oasis in a bustling authentic Neapolitan neighborhood, close to the historic centre. Clean and comfortable room, quiet if you keep the window closed. Great common kitchen and lounge. Lot of books and interesting contemporary art. Amazing pastries and good coffee for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Thanks very much, Marko and everybody else. I would love to come back.

The Casa del Monacone emerged as the result of a restoration project of the 18th century monastery complex adjacent to Santa Maria della Sanità Basilica.Offering 6 comfortable rooms, the place features single to family accommodations,each equipped with a private bathroom, individual heating and air-conditioning, fridge-bar, and a safety box.Free Wi-Fi is available to all guests.Additional amenities include access to an elevator,a welcoming common lounge and breakfast room,internet hub,a modern kitchen, and a panoramic terrace overlooking the beautiful elliptical monastery cloister. In 2006,the ancient monastery quarters were completely restructured and redesigned.The Artistic Concept behind the transformation of the old monastery into a comfortable B&B was conceived and implemented by the renowned Neapolitan designer Riccardo Dalisi.The furnishing and decoration process involved renovating vintage pieces, restoring antique paintings, adding precious majolica,designed and hand-made by Dalisi himself. All the steel light fixtures and copper door decorations were hand-made by the local artisanal shop IronAngels.All in all,a wonderful balance between ancient and modern was reached

Sightseeing nearby La Casa del Monacone is located in the Sanità Rione (district), one of the ancient quarters of the city. The district is rich in history and fascinating sites. We highly recommend our guided tours (in English on request) of the Catacombs of San Gaudioso and of San Gennaro, both listed among the major sites of Naples and managed by the young members of our association, la Paranza. Gastronomy in the area Surely your plans include sampling genuine Neapolitan pizza. A few steps away you will find the long-established and now famed pizzeria + restaurants of the neighbourhood: Pizzeria Oliva da Concettina ai 3 Santi, La Taverna di Toto, La Cantina del Gallo, Pizzeria Oliva da Carla e Salvatore, Starita. But as far as desserts go, we strongly advise you to taste the celebrated "fiocco di neve "(“snowflake”) pastry created by Ciro Poppella which has made his shop justly famous.
