    “Reception and all staff very helpful and friendly. On arrival we were given an upgrade on our room for no extra charge. the room was spacious and comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Location was great, just a few minutes from train station and within the city walls. Breakfast was buffet style , but you could order from a menu at no extra cost. Free use of the pool and spa for an hour each night.”

    “Everything about this hotel was special. The front was appealing, there were many people taking pictures on the street outside. The hotel is super close to the shambles, the minster cathedral and only a short walk from everything else you'd want to see while visiting York. Inside the decor was lovely, we were seen straight away by reception and give the key to our room. We were visiting for our 10 year Anniversary and when we went in to our room there was a plate of fudge with happy Anniversary written in chocolate. Breakfast was amazing, great choices and cooked beautifully. I'd definitely recommend the blue lagoon cocktail from the bar!”

    “Ground floor Queen room (#125). Very convenient. Good quality, plentiful hot buffet breakfast, if a little limited for choice e.g. no mushrooms, hash browns or fried eggs. Better choices for continental breakfast.”
