We stayed in a Deluxe King room and the decor was absolutely superb. Extremely tastefully decorated bedroom and really well equipped bathroom. Attention to details excellent.

There was nothing to dislike.

Awesome homely b&b. Firstly, not a hotel. This place is an old 3 story house, but don’t let that turn you away. The house is excellent. The breakfast is soooo tasty. Tasty fresh eggs, and great full English breakfast. Best we have had so far on our tour of England. The rooms are cozy, the king bed was the most comfortable bed we have had so far. The shower had good pressure, and was steaming hot. The towels are large, thick and fluffy. Only a 12 minute walk to the city walls, it was great to get our ‘’steps’’ in. 🙂. The owner/manager was very accomodating and friendly. We parked on-site. A bit of a squeeze, but no complaints. The room we had was a king supreme room on the top floor. It was super quiet, and we had the best sleep so far on our road trip.

Lovely room, spotlessly clean good facilities in the room. Staff were great really friendly and helpful about parking. Sadly didnt make breakfast as the bed was too comfy :o)

No private parking - but don’t be out off by this. There is plenty of parking in the twin which is free. More when they aren’t digging up the high street. I managed to park pretty much outside in the disk zone and the hotel lent me a disk to use.

The room was stunning with every attention to detail. Bed extremely comfortable and everywhere spotless The food in the pub was delicious- homemade mushroom soup a gorgeous ocean pie and a pint for £23. Service was excellent too. Will definitely return.

It was a little noisy in the morning when work started outside. Although I doubt this will be the case once pedestrian area work is completed.

There was no semi skimmed milk in the room, however one of the staff popped to the local shop to get me some which was a lovely touch.

These are more observations than criticisms... 1. The cooked breakfast (on the Sunday) took 50 mins to arrive, from first sitting at the table, which I felt was a tad slow, particularly as I was the only guest for 20 mins and only three other people arrived prior to my breakfast arriving. 2. The bedroom toilet seat/lid felt thin and cheap, which seemed somewhat incongruous, as all other fittings were of a very high standard.

The location was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. The bar had a nice ambience. The bedroom looked like it had recently been decorated to a very high standard, which was a nice surprise.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and a friendly warm welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean and everything we needed to know ie fire escapes, meal times etc was explained fully. Beds extremely comfortable lovely bedding.
