Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast! without doubt one of the worst hotel breakfast experiences of my life. Even Premier Inn nail this better. The drab room itself, the fact that breakfast buffest was on trestle tables, the food (choice and quality), the staff - literally everything about the breakfast experience was rubbish. Hotels need to remember that guests judge the restaurants in the hotel based on their breakfast experience. for this reason, if i was to stay again, i would not book breakfast and i would not chance the bar/restaurant food.
The spacious room, the spa and the location were all lovely. Comfy bed. great nights sleep. The staff at the Spa and in the bar also very helpful. I felt that the person on reception what checked me in was a little impatient.

United Kingdomtwo complaints:- on the evening of the 11th at the bar there were no shot glasses for a G&T so the drink was served in a tumbler, the glass was dirty and when I returned the drink the new G&T was served in a large wine glass. I remarked to the attending manager that this was unacceptable for such a hotel. The other thing was that the excellent breakfast which was self service sometimes attracted a service charge and other times not (we paid for our meals each time)
The coast restaurant was excellent , our room met our requirements and the hotel generally was impressive.

United KingdomDisapointed the Moet bar wasnt open during the week. The main bar was very poor compared to the rest of the hotel. It didnt smell very nice either and was quite dirty. We ordered a portion of scones and wasnt given any plates. When i asked for plates the young lady that was working in there looked at us like we was mad. She was the one and only member of staff during our stay that was rude and miserable. She never said please or thank you once. I didnt go in the bar again.
Beautiful hotel. Stunning location on the beach. The staff were lovely. Coast resturant was very good, good quality food and lots of it. Our suite was huge over looking the sea. Very relaxing stay.

United KingdomThe staff need much more training to make the customer feel welcome and perform tasks more efficiently. One suspects poor management.
The breakfast was poor. Machine juice and machine are not acceptable. Poor range of cooked, especially for vegetarians and any special diet. One expects fresh fruit salad, local yoghurt and a greater variety of cereals with toppings and perhaps a compote. The service for our porridge and eggs was very poor,

United KingdomMy room was hot. On the 4th floor even with the air conditioning on it was a relief to get into the lift. There is a section at the end of the floor which just seems to be so hot. It was April - so it was not unbearable. However, I would not want to stay in my room from May onwards without knowing that the aircon issues had been resolved. The gym was manned by a really helpful guy and it has lots of equipment. It is very uninspiring though - you are in a basement in a room with no windows if you are using cardio equipment. The weights room was well equipped, but in a very bland room with no windows and no Aircon. I decided to only use it once and get my exercise walking.
The locations is stunning. Great for walking and even for access to Hythe. The bar food Menu was perfect for me of an evening. The fridge in the room was a bonus and I really appreciated it. Every member of staff I spoke to was well informed and seemed to be given the opportunity to do a good job.

GermanyOur room was on the fourth floor. There was a lot of noise from the roof area above our room which made the room shake. Was so bad that in the small bathroom it felt like I was on a ferry in motion. Additionally the air conditioning displayed an error code which I reported to reception.
Location next to the sea. Large parking area. We had stayed there previously.
