Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayMore variety is required at Restaurants, room becomes very hot at night.
I had a wonderful stay at your hotel. The room with a Mountain View was breathtaking and truly added to the experience. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. I appreciated the reliable WiFi and found the hotel personnel to be extremely helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings.

AustraliaSome rooms are smaller than others as can be seen in the photos. We received a very small room with a window which let in a draft - room 501, corner room, top floor. The view of the mountains was also obstructed by the hotel roof. The hotel is not cheap...at about 264 euros a night, you shouldn't have to deal with a drafty room with no control of room temperature. The bed was also exceptionally uncomfortable. I could barely stand in the morning. Water pooled in the bathroom in the centre of the room...the bathroom was quite small and cramped.
The breakfast had exceptional choice and the items were of high quality. The hotel is central and has charm. The room was clean.

GermanyThe coffee service during breakfast was not to good. Filter coffee is available for self help but to get a cappuccino or latte you need to order from the waiter and they are extremely busy with running breakfast service, so it can take a while to order some fancy coffee. The extractor fan in the bathroom seemed a bit slow, we had to keep the door open for along time to get rid of all the steam from the shower
The breakfast was very good. A good variety of food for all to enjoy. many local food selections to try from which was very nice and added to the experience. The view of the rooms were also excellent, try asking for a fjord view on the 3rd floor and up.

IrelandLovely hotel, loved my room. Great location, only a few minutes walk to the Gondolas, or the trail path for Rampestreken if you are feeling a bit more energetic. Dinner in the La Vue restaurant was very good and breakfast selection was great. Would recommend a stop in the coffee shop Sodahlhuset, which is just around the corner from the hotel.

Staff extremely helpful and cheerful. Room was pleasant and good size with nice decor, however the room was let down by the bathroom which was dated and a basic shower. Restaurant, dinner and breakfast very good.

PortugalThe room felt a little too small, especially the bathroom. Other than that, there really is nothing to say!
Cleanest hotel I've probably stayed in. The facilities are clearly well maintained. Breakfast was indeed very good, and the restaurant 'la vue' inside was also very good. Friendly and helpful staff!!

United StatesThe location up the hill was a bit of a struggle for my mother with her suitcase but it’s a short walk from the train station and we managed it.
The grand hotel felt luxurious. Staff was exceptionally friendly and the breakfast was quite good, especially the coffee drink selection (mocha, latte, americano, etc).

United StatesThe breakfast was very good, and so was the dinner that we ate in the hotel restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking is free if there is enough room in the two small lots in front of the hotel; paid parking is in the rear of the hotel. You can walk to the gondola and waterfront from the hotel. The room was on the small side, but clean and modern. We enjoyed playing cards with our friends in the comfortable lounge area.

SpainWe paid around 250€ for 1 night. The room was big and spacious but no toiletries or vanities at all. We forgot to bring toothpaste and they charged us 50KR for it - the mini kit that usually comes with the room- . No robes or slippers and very average quality towels. Also the room had coffee and tea, with a Nespresso machine but capsules were not Nespresso even though inside the fancy box, and there was no kettle for the tea. Also nothing to stir the creamer and sugar.
Loved the location and great views to the Fjord. Comfy bed. The hotel is very pretty and with quite a lot of history. Breakfast was amazing!
