Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff were very nice. There are some nice activities locally. The main reason we come is for the elephants. Rooms aren't anything special. Food is ok.

The elephant came to our room for breakfast. It was an amazing experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but nice.

SingaporeOur bathroom shower handle was broken, so there was water leakage and hence wastage of water
The hotel felt like our home, we had such a wonderful stay - the rooms were clean, the bathrooms were clean, the breakfast was great and felt like home food; staff and their hospitality was top notch! The elephant wake up calls were an added bonus!

SingaporeAs the location is very very out of the way, it would have been good to be informed a little bit more before hand that 1. transport arrangements need to be thought out 2. plan to pack to be isolated (ie. bring your own snacks, card games)
Such a unique experience, really nothing like the average experience. You really get to feel one with nature, such peaceful atmosphere, without being in discomfort. You get such a special experience with the elephants. Food was simple but good, "staff" don't feel like staff, very friendly, calm, chill, totally serenity.

AustraliaAccommodation could do with looking a bit more homely but otherwise I loved our stay. The food is expensive but convenient.
Probably a bit overpriced for what it is, but the elephant wake up is pretty unique so I suppose that’s what you pay for. This is an ethically run accommodation as they have an affiliation with Elephant Jungle Sanctuary - you can google their website and see their mission statement.

ItalyThe facilities need some attention as they are a bit run down and the space is very small so definitely overpriced. The elephants only come in in the morning for a short time and then they are gone so no chance to see where they are actually kept and how they are treated.
The elephant call in the morning is a nice opportunity to see these beautiful animals up close.

ThailandThe staff were ALL drunk, obnoxious and very pushy to upsell you at every turn. Last time we visited, it was a quiet, family friendly spot with well cared for grounds and animals. This time, they had converted the covered patio to a venue called “Bitch Bar” which is jarring, in and of itself. The food was very poor quality (the worst we have had in Thailand) and outrageously overpriced. The animal seemed to be sick. It was spraying diarrhea on the lawn in front of the cabins. The manager was loud, aggressive, obnoxious and when he wasn’t drunk he was clearly hungover. It was sad to see this once special place has fallen so far from the formerly enchanting experience it once was.
Clean enough, cute space, pretty location.

BoliviaWe went with my wife and the hotel was in a very remote place, without vehicle access. What they show in their photographs is not the same as what they offer, a very neglected place without proper maintenance. We went to this hotel with the intention of having a good ethical experience with elephants but I don't see it being a safe place for them. I don't recommend this place to anyone

United Arab EmiratesThe bathroom needs updating. The mattress was old and needs replacing as it was indented in the middle so forced us both to sleep there. Breakfast was not great, egg fried rice.
The facilities and the room are not great, very basic. The bathroom is pretty much in the room. You go to this resort for the amazing elephant wake up, which didn’t disappoint!

United KingdomAn amazing experience. The huts are great, they have a/c, private bathroom and terrace area where the elephant greets you for breakfast. The owner sook and his family are great, we arrived in a storm and they provided us with dressing gowns and slippers and food is good too. Sook is very passionate about elephants and sat having a chat with us all about them. The morning was great, we got to feed the elephant from our terrace and while she roamed the garden area. Breakfast was lovely, would 100% recommend this stay.

RomaniaInitially, our preference was to secure lodging at the Orchid Chai Lai Resort, which is situated a brief ten-minute walk from 3 Pok Maewang. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure accommodations at this establishment due to unavailability. However, fortuitously, we discovered the 3 Pok Maewang resort, and were immensely satisfied with our experience. In fact, we found it to be superior to the Orchid Chai Lai, with its smaller and more intimate atmosphere, and the opportunity to interact with the elephants in the morning. Therefore, we recommend selecting the 3 Pok Maewang resort if you are seeking a cozier and more intimate setting than the Orchid Chai Lai. Furthermore, we were dissatisfied with the Orchid Chai Lai's dishonesty about their availability. We personally discovered two unoccupied rooms during both the evening and morning, despite being told that they were fully booked. This further solidified our appreciation for selecting the 3 Pok Maewang resort. Finally, we express our gratitude to the proprietor of the 3 Pok Maewang resort for the exceptional care he provided us during our stay, and for his remarkable honesty in returning a wallet containing our money and cards that we had misplaced in the parking lot. We are eternally grateful for this act of kindness. Overall, I would enthusiastically recommend 3 Pok Maewang to anyone searching for a delightful and affordable accommodation where you can interact with well taken care of elephants.
